LOVE AESTHETICS
http://love-aesthetics.blogspot.com.au/
Ivania Carpio does minimalist chic & DIY best- hands down.

I have long been a fan of 'Love Aesthetics'. I don't remember how I stumbled across it, but I remember being bewildered by her nordic-space-age-style simplicity and marvelling at her intelligent & innovative DIY projects.

A major pulling power for me is the fact that her wardrobe is made up of mainly black, white & gray and she adds interest using texture and tone. Despite the constantly changing face of fashion, she remains true to her personal aesthetic which is evident also in her pinterest boards (which I might add are equally as good).

Ivania is an individual who has a strong sense of her personal style and for this reason I think she will stand the test of time and trend.

Flashback Friday

I spent my night looking through old photo's on my hard drive from 2009 when I lived in India for 6 months. The parallels of indian children's lives to those of a western child's life were very confronting for me. Living in India made me so grateful to God for blessing me with the life and family I had been given. Looking over these photo's remind me that I have suffered little and have been given so much opportunity to exceed in my life.

I am blessed.

(Top) 'Mena' a baby girl who is left in her cot for 12 hrs by herself all day while her parents work on the farm to earn their living for food and board. She swings in her cot all day, laughing and singing, less than a metre away from a cupboard that holds a bees hive and she is perfectly content.

(Below) Orphans and poor children are given to the monastery, at a young age, to embark on a path of learning and enlightenment, where they are given a religious education and a home where they are kept full and healthy.

BOSS BLOGS #2

Street Peeper
http://streetpeeper.com/
An easy way to view chic street fashion snaps taken by Phil Oh from all around the world.

Street fashion is a great source of inspiration for my own closet and inspires me to be more adventurous in my fashion choices. I don't remember how I stumbled across this one (probably just using the ol' google search on a rainy day) but it has remained a favourite of mine, especially in class when I was doing 'target market research'.

My favourite cities to browse are Tokyo and Stockholm. They always seem to be at the cutting edge and self-expression appears to be the main focus of people in these areas.
